Have you ever heard of ACV? Or more commonly known as “Apple Cider Vinegar”
This liquid could almost be labelled as a liquid gold. Well, I think it should be with all the amazing benefits it offers.
I use ACV with my warm lemon water when I wake up. Now I am not anal and do this every single day but I’ve done it here and there over the years.
It not until the last month or two that I have been making sure I add 1 tbsp into my morning ritual “warm lemon water”. You can find out the benefits to warm lemon water here.
I find when I do this I can get a little queasy as I am consuming this on an empty stomach but it doesn’t last for long, especially if you have breakfast right after.
I highly recommend that if you drink it, make sure you dilute it in warm water, you can do cold but I find warm gives a much better soothing feel.
I also add it as a dressing on any salads I have. I don’t have exact quantities for a recipe but I add about 1 tbsp ACV, fresh lemon juice and pink salt and pepper to taste. Done.
So, I’m sure you are wanting to know the benefits of apple cider vinegar, so here are some of my favourites.
Detox The Body - Apple cider vinegar is high in minerals, vitamins and enzymes, which makes it a great detoxifying tool.
Apple cider vinegar is a liver and lymphatic tonic which can help detox your body.
It helps balance your body’s PH and stimulates cardiovascular stimulation, bowel motility and lymphatic drainage.
Digestion & Bloating - ACV is very effective when it comes to a variety of digestive disorders as it stimulates digestive juices that help the body breakdown food. It can help indigestion, bloating, gas and even heartburn.
The healthy acids found in ACV, including acetic, isobutyric, lactic and propionic acid aids better digestion by controlling the growth of unwanted yeast and bacteria in the stomach and throughout the body.
To utilise its ability to do so, drink a mix of one or two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with water before each meal.
Stabilizes Blood Sugar Levels - Regularly drinking apple cider vinegar can help reduce blood sugar levels and keep them balanced—in fact, it’s one of the reasons ACV is recommended to diabetics.
Instead of your blood sugar spiking after eating and then nose-diving, ACV blunts the effect, allowing glucose to be released into the bloodstream over a longer period of time.
There is nothing worse than feeling that rash after you eat, so this can really help with your blood sugar levels. Try it for yourself.
How to know which ACV is best to buy? When buying apple cider vinegar it is imperative to choose a bottle that is organic, non-GMO, unpasteurized, raw and unfiltered containing “the Mother” – a combination of enzymes, proteins and probiotic bacteria.
